About Me

megan photo newAs a graduate from Edinburgh College of Art with a special interest in design, drawing and colour, I specialise in hand-printed wallpaper and fabrics with a largely botanical theme. Delicate hand-drawn floral imagery combined with bold paper cut silhouettes characterise my work. The results are contemporary, yet timeless, wallpapers and fabrics enriched by a traditional approach to their production.  The designs promote a decorative, luxurious and harmonious atmosphere, where colour plays an important role. I experiment with subtle historic tones, natural shades and contemporary vibrant hues, as well as gold and copper surface decoration to create an elegant atmosphere, through a distinctive yet understated product.

All of the wallpapers and fabrics are screen-printed by hand in Scotland using a combination of techniques and materials. I am particularly interested in the artisanal character of my work and enjoy the way in which hand printing accentuates this, making each design and print unique. My current influences are many and varied. Vintage textiles, old botanical drawings, flea markets and regular visits to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh, where I love to draw and photograph, are all exciting source of inspiration
